ISSM is seeking members to constitute and serve on the Song, Stage and Screen 2026 Host Committee. Given the extraordinary global precarity of the current moment, we are planning to make next year's conference virtual. The host committee may thus be comprised of individuals who need not be at the same institutions or in the same countries.

ISSM is seeking hosts interested in and experienced with virtual conferences. We are especially interested in hosts outside the US, since Song Stage & Screen has met in the US for the past two years. 

The responsibilities of the Host Committee include:

• Working closely with the institution that is hosting the conference, if applicable

• Proposing the conference theme (subject to ISSM Board approval) and format of papers, panels, round-tables, and workshops

• Proposing and programming the all-conference programming, including keynote speakers, invited panels, invited performances,  and trips to local performances or sites, as applicable

• Communicating with the Program Committee Chair

• Planning conference logistics, including breaks, social events, booking appropriate spaces, and technology needs

• Working with the allotted budget, and procuring additional funds as needed
